A food distributor Recalls some prizes of granola bars due to potential contamination involving a metallic object, according to officials.
The recall, which was initiated by Riverside Natural Foods Inc., concerns Granola bars made. It was initiated for the first time on December 9 and, according to Today.com, the recall affects more than 2 million granola bars.
The bars are recalled “due to the potential presence of a piece of metal in the product, which, if consumed, can lead to a risk of security,” said the declaration of the company. THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) increased the level of recall level to class II, its second highest risk classification on February 11.
Class II reminders involve products which “can cause unwanted consequences on temporary or medically reversible health or when the probability of serious harmful consequences on health is distant”.

The following flavors of granola bars are affected:
- Granola bars with chocolate chips
- Granola bars with mixed berries
- Strawberry granola bars
- Granola Cookies & Crème bars
- Chocolate banana granola bar
- Granola bars sprinkled with chocolate
- Chocolate cookie cookies
- Granola bars with watered vanilla
“Riverside conducted an in -depth investigation where the products recalled were manufactured and identified the source of the problem in the manufacturing process,” noted Riverside Natural Foods. “The company has corrected the problem and tested the new processes to ensure that any future risk is entirely attenuated.”
“Consumers who bought these products are invited to verify them compared to the list and make the product recalled to the store where they bought it for a full refund.”
